Kwan's Kung Fu Studio teaches Fu-Jow Pai Kung Fu, a southern style with a heavy emphasis on applicable techniques, learned through forms and exercises.  In addition to offering classes during weekday afternoons and evenings and during the day on weekends, the school performs demonstrations and traditional Chinese Lion Dances at ceremonies.

Our Classes

Both childrens' and adults' classes begin with warmup and stretching exercises, which includes basic kicks and punches, as well as some advanced moves.  After the warmup, students focus on martial forms, rolling, weapons, sparring, applications, and other work, based on their individual advancement level.  We offer a lot of classes because we intentionally keep the class sizes small -- it is important to us that each students get one-on-one training from our instructors.

For your event

Kwan's Kung Fu Studio will perform a Kung Fu demonstration at almost any ceremony.  We have performed at many events including the Asian Awareness Festival at the Kensico Dam in Valhalla, the 2010 Chinese New Year celebrations in New Rochelle (see article in The Journal News), the Japanese Stroll Garden at the Hammond Museum in North Salem, Chinese New Year in NYC, and at private parties and weddings.  If you wish to have us perform Traditional Kung Fu, or our famous lion dance, at your event please email us and let us know.  In the email, please include the day and time of the event, as well as a brief description of the event and what you would like us to perform.
